The nasolabial folds, commonly known as “smile lines” or “laugh lines”, are facial features. They are the two skin folds that run from each side of the nose to the corners of the mouth. They separate the cheeks from the lip (upper).
As we age, these creases get deeper. It’s strange because the creases do not in reality get deeper but the surrounding cheek tissue moves down and forward giving this illusion.
Fillers will ‘fill’ the hollow left behind and pull the cheek up thus softening these lines and resulting in a rejuvenated and more youthful appearance.
