  • Restores fully functioning teeth
  • Alternative to removable dentures
  • Leave with new teeth the same day

All-on-4 dental implants use just 4 implant screws to provide a stable and permanent foundation for a full arch restoration of either the lower or upper jaw. All-on-4 dental implants can provide a more natural-looking, comfortable and stable alternative to removable dentures or other alternatives.

Designed to give you a durable set of natural-looking teeth, this treatment is one of the most popular choice for replacing missing teeth. It can be used for upper or lower jaw bones, or both. All-on-4 implants restore the full function and aesthetic appearance to your mouth and smile.

The All-on-4 concept is named after the four dental implants that hold in place a permanent fixed prosthetic bridge or removable denture used to fully restore your missing teeth. The placement differs from other implant procedures as it uses just 4 titanium implants which are placed in unique positions, angulation and depth. This is in order to achieve stability of the final bridge or denture.

Learn more about All-on-4 Dental Implants

What are All-on-4 dental implants?

All-on-4 dental implants are a full set of implants that are designed to replace an entire arch of teeth using only 4-6 implant screws. They are a permanent set of teeth set on dental implants and surgically placed into your jaw. They are often a more permanent and natural looking alternative to dentures. Dental implants often require patients to undergo bone grafting, however, the All-on-4 procedure reduces the need for bone grafting. All-on-4 is an amazing tool for many people to restore an entire arch of teeth simply within 4 implants.

Dental implants are widely recognised as one of the most durable and stable solutions for tooth loss. All-on-4 dental implants differ from dentures because they are a permanent solution for severely damaged or missing teeth, which also makes maintaining them a lot easier. These implants are secured directly into your own jaw. This ensures that they not only feel, but also function just like natural teeth.

Contact our dental practices in Wandsworth, South West London or Esher, Surrey, to find out more about dental implants.

What is the All-on-4 procedure?

The implants are usually connected with a bar to improve stability of the implants. This bar then supports either a fixed bridge or alternatively a removable denture which clicks in and out when required. Unlike other removable dentures, these implants anchor the new teeth in place. This improves the overall stability, allowing you to eat and talk normally whilst looking very natural.

The treatment begins with careful planning to ensure that your jawbone is suitable for dental implants. This usually involves taking a cone beam CT scan to assess your jawbone density and quality. Where the bone is insufficient to hold the implants, we are able to perform bone grafting procedures. This improves the quality and quantity of bone prior to the implant placement.

Once your jawbone is ready for treatment, the implants will be placed. Following this, a temporary bridge so that you can leave the practice with a new set of teeth on the same day. The temporary bridge will allow you to get used to the new tooth positions, test the speech and assess the aesthetic appearance of the teeth before the final permanent bridge or denture is made. That way, any adjustments that need to be made can be incorporated into the final permanent bridge.

The implants will require some time to settle in and fuse with the bone. Once this process has occurred, your temporary bridge will be replaced with a permanent bridge or denture. Once this is completed you can enjoy a long-lasting and stable new set of teeth.

Why choose All-on-4 dental implants?

The All-on-4 dental implant solution has been developed in order to simplify the treatment for those suffering from tooth loss, periodontal disease and/or bone atrophy. With the All-on-4 solution, your overall health is restored with an efficient, time effective and cost friendly solution.

The All-on-4 dental implant solution can be a better option to other alternatives because it:

  • Is a more permanent and natural looking option
  • Reduces or eliminates bone resorption
  • Has proven predictability and a very high success rate
  • Is a fairly short procedure, often as little as one day for treatment
  • Has a lower cost than conventional implant procedures

What are the advantages of All-on-4 implants?

All-on-4 dental implants have several advantages over alternative treatments such as dentures or individual implants.

Look and feel natural

Not only do these implants feel natural, they also look that way. They also work exactly like natural teeth, they cannot be removed and therefore should also be treated like natural teeth. They should be brushed twice a day and flossed daily accompanied by regular dental checkups.

Get immediate results

With as few as four dental implants, you can restore your smile in as little as one day. You will also experience the benefits from the procedure almost immediately, including improvement in your chewing, teeth stability and overall comfort. The procedure takes less time for both treatment and recovery.

Improve your appearance

The All-on-4 procedure cane take 20 years off your smile! The procedure itself helps preserve the jawbone and prevents any further deterioration to the facial structure associated with the messing teeth. With a fully restored smile, you will have greater comfort and confidence with eating and most importantly while smiling.

No restrictions

After the procedure, you will be able to enjoy all your favourite foods and drinks again without any reservation. Your dental implants never have to be removed so simply treat them as normal teeth. There is also no need to take them out to clean them.

All-on-4 implants provide a stable and comfortable anchor for bridges and crowns. They also work well for patients who have suffered bone loss in their jaw

Cheaper than several individual implants

What are the disadvantages of All-on-4 implants?

All-on-4 dental implants may also have several disadvantages over alternative treatments.

  • Traditional implants can lead to better results
  • You may notice your speech being affected slightly
  • Can sometimes feel slightly uncomfortable in the mouth
  • Not always available via the NHS

Why is it called All-on-4?

The term ‘All-on-4’ refers to all of your teeth being supported on only four dental implants.

The All-on-4 procedure can replace both upper and lower arches with a hybrid century mounted on just 4 implants. The all-on-4 procedure is a complete restoration of the upper and lower arch using dental implants. The process is very similar to the traditional, individual dental implant procedure.

This method of implants is a permanent solution for tooth replacement which also makes maintenance a lot easier.

The implants are usually connected with a bar to improve stability of the implants. This bar supports either a fixed bridge or alternatively a removable denture which clicks in and out when required. Only a dentist can take out your All-on-4 implant.

Alternatives to All-on-4

There are two main alternations to All-on-4 implants

  • Fixed bridges
  • Removable implant dentures

The Neem Tree provides a full range of dental implant treatments. Book a consultant so we can evaluate your case and discuss all of the options available to you and which ones are likely to suit your circumstance.

Will the procedure be painful?

Your dentist will give you local anesthesia and light oral sedation which makes the process surprisingly comfortable. Intravenous sedation may also be provided which will safely put you in a deep sleep while the surgery is completed so you do not feel a thing!

Will I be sedated?

Yes, you will be sedated during the procedure. Your dentist will discuss which type of anaesthesia would be best for you before your treatment begins.

How long do they take to heal?

We recommend that you stay at home, relax and take it easy for at least the first 72 hours after surgery. If you had a general anesthesia during the surgery then you may experience some light-headed and dizziness following the surgery.

Will I need a bone graft?

In most cases you will not need a bone graft because the All-on-4 technique angles the back implants where the bone deficient can be avoided.

However in some cases, minor grafting is necessary to ensure the ideal placement of the implant. The need for a potential bone graft can be identified during your initial consultation and will be discussed in detail with you.

Why are they called teeth in a day?

The all-on-4 is usually referred to as teeth in a day because the technique used with all-on-4 treatment will restore your oral function and natural smile in one single day!

Does all-on-4 look natural?

All-on-4 implants are made to look natural as well as feel and function as similar as possible to natural teeth. The day procedure will restore your most natural smile and oral function in just one day.

Are All-on-4 removable?

No, All-on-4 implants are non-removable, they are fixed to your gums.

What is peri implantitis?

Peri-implantitis is an infectious disease around the implant area. The disease causes an inflammatory process in the soft tissues around the implant. Peri-implantitis is a reversible condition.

How long do All-on-4 implants last?

Unfortunately, dental implants do not last an entire lifetime but with good oral hygiene habits and proper care, most dental professionals agree that the lifespan of the All-on-4 implants should be able to last at least 20-25 years. Recent studies have also shown that dental implants have a 98% success rate!
