What is dental monitoring?

Dental Monitoring is a revolutionary new system that uses your smart phone to keep track of your orthodontic treatment. Using our ScanBox and your smart phone, you take regular scans of your smile.

The images are then analysed by the Dental Monitoring software and clinical updates are sent directly to your orthodontist. They can then make clinical decisions based on these reports and send you instructions or personalised messages relating to your treatment directly to you through the app.

How does dental monitoring work?

Step 1. Take pictures of your smile from wherever you are in the world!

Download the Dental Monitoring app on your smart phone and you can start taking pictures of your smile with the DM scanner to be analysed – no matter where in the world you are!

Step 2. Your orthodontist receives live feedback on your pictures

The Dental Monitoring app notifies your orthodontist with regular clinical updates on the progress of your treatment. You can use the DM app to receive updates, instructions and personalised messages from your orthodontist.

Step 3. Get that perfect smile!

Watch your smile change without all the unnecessary appointments. The Dental Monitoring app allows you to keep track of your smile using the before and after feature

How do i take my dental monitoring scans?

The Dental Monitoring starter pack comes with a ScanBox which makes taking the scans with your smart phone much easier. You will also receive a number of cheek retractors. These are designed to work with the Dental Monitoring system by making it easier to reach the whole smile.

You can also access the tutorial in the Help section of your Dental Monitoring app for a step-by-step guide on taking scans. There are also how-to videos on the Dental Monitoring YouTube page.

How often should i take dental monitoring scans?

Each treatment plan differs and your orthodontist will advise you on the best schedule for taking your scans. They may request that you take scans outside of these scheduled times, however.

It is advised that you take your scans as quickly as possible after receiving the notification from your Dental Monitoring app.

What treatments does dental monitoring work with?

Dental Monitoring can work with any orthodontic treatment such as:

What notifications will i receive?

You will usually receive one of 2 messages from your orthodontist based on your scans.

  1. Instructions on whether to change your aligners or to continue using your current ones.
  2. Personalised messages giving advice, instructions or updates on your treatment.

What are the benefits of dental monitoring?

Dental Monitoring can make your orthodontic treatments easier, simpler and safer by allowing you to provide regular scans to your dentist without having to schedule constant appointments.

  • Fewer appointments in the practice
  • Faster treatment
  • Aligners change as soon as they need to
  • Aligners fit your teeth better meaning more discreet treatment.
  • Receive real-time updates and notifications from your orthodontist
  • Keep track of your progress with the before/after feature
