Looking Forward to 2021

General Dentistry

We’re approaching the 2020 finish line and as we are reaching the end of the year, it is difficult not to reflect on what a year it has been. Through two lockdowns and global pandemic, this year has undoubtedly been a hard one. For me personally, lockdown was stressful, worrying if the practice would survive, worrying about the team and their families but throughout these trying times, the positives really shine through. The incredible team at The Neem Tree is a family and together, with a positive outlook and hard work we have managed to get through the hard times.

It has been a heartbreaking, tragic year filled with loss, chaos and immeasurable stress but throughout it all, we all persisted and with a little hope and faith, we can make 2021 a healthy year filled with happiness and great dental care.

Lockdown has made many of us re-evaluate a lot of things in life such as family time, health, oral health and quality of life. We have noticed two types of patients at the practice recently.

One type is people that haven’t been to the dentist for a very long time and have now realised that it is time to take care of themselves and their health. Oral health is really one thing that needs care and attention. I cannot stress this enough, prevention is definitely better than cure. We understand how daunting the dentist chair can be, but our friendly staff will ease your worries if you’re putting off that check up, ignoring the tooth ache, or simply just scared to come in for a clean. If this year has taught us anything, it is to fight your fears and take care of your body. If you are in pain, it is your body trying to tell you that something is not right. Evidence shows that poor dental health can impact our body’s overall health, affecting heart disease and diabetes. We can take care of it, we’re just a phone call away.

Many of these patients are very nervous, which is why we have implemented Teddy into our dental practices. Teddy is our adorable puppy that will be there with you in the waiting room, helping to ease your nerves and anxiousness.

The other type of patients we have noticed is new patients joining us who have realised that their previous practice hasn’t looked after them very well this year, with little to no information or help.

We are proud to say that we have kept all our patients informed throughout lockdown with blog posts, social media posts and stories as well as video updates on our YouTube channel. For a while there we had to remain closed so we created videos and blogs to show all of you how to deal with any dental emergencies safely at home.

The best comment a new patient had said to me this year is “why did I leave it so long to change dentists? I didn’t realise it could be this lovely!”

So, trust us, trust me.. Whether you haven’t been to the dentist in a while, you’re looking for a change or the idea of a dentist just scares you, we can take care of you at The Neem Tree. You’ll always be welcome here.

We wish you all a very merry Christmas from all of us at The Neem Tree and the best of health and happiness for 2021!
