Joana received her DDS degree at Viseu University in 2010 in Portugal.

She had been working with English German and Dutch patients since graduating under the amazing weather of the Algarve!!

Joana also worked in private practice in Amsterdam and then she decided to move to the U.K. in 2013 when she started an MSc in Dental Public Health at University College of London and finished with Distintion! Since then she had a little baby girl Alice and started practising general dentistry at the Neem Tree for more than 3 years now.

Joana is a general dentist with special interest in Orthodontics being an Invisalign (Clear aligners) and Secret Smile (Lingual braces) provider. She also enjoys doing cosmetics fixed Orthodontics having done a Masters in Portugal of Damon System at the Escola Superior de Odontologia in Oporto, Portugal 8 years ago.

Joana was a speaker at the Portuguese dentistry Congress in 2011 and has since then lectured for charities such as The Portuguese Red Cross; elderly care centres and children’s day nurseries. She allies her private practice work with the passion for charity and Public Health.

Having finished her thesis in Dental anxiety and Quality of life with Distinction at UCL she has the necessary skills to manage and treat dental fear, having frequent referrals of new patients from her own patients.

Joana is a kind and caring dentist graduated with honours from the Universidade Catolica Portuguesa in 2010.

She qualified with an integrated Masters in Paediatric dentistry in 2010 and achieved a Distinction grade in her Masters degree in Dental Public health from the University College of London (MSc) in 2013 where she focused on Dental Anxiety.

Being interested in cosmetic straightening, Joana is an Invisalign Provider and also provides clear and lingual fixed braces.

She is also passionate about facial aesthetics treatments having completed the PgDip in Facial Aesthetics at Queen Mary’s University in London.

With a vast experience of working in Portugal, The Netherlands and U.K., Joana has an all rounded approach, which together with her sunny disposition puts the most nervous of patients at ease.

Joana also enjoys playing the piano, reading and taking care of her little girls Alice and Julia!
